I used this piece to gain more experience working with advertising and marketing for the company Louis Vuitton.
This project was to take an existing typeface and create a typebook to demonstrate how it can be used, show the characters, glyphs, etc.Bodoni was my chosen font.
This project was to create a bike ad in a certain size with few regulations.
I created the company Trikes for Tykes, their logo and began to brand the imaginated brand. Through illustration, typography, and photo of the trike; I was able to acheive an ad in the end.
This project was to take a quote and describe it through using typography and images. I wanted to create something that would show emotion through the colors chosen, type, and image. With assigning a photographer for this project and gaining experience working on the set up of the image, I gained much experience.
This project was to gain experience soley in Adobe Illustrator. First sketching, scanning, then going into Adobe Illustrator.
I used this piece to gain more experience working with advertising and marketing for the company Juicy Couture.
This project was to pick a word and describe it. Need to create a definition for the word and use five images/illustrations.
I picked my photos, printed them, tore them out, scanned them in, and layed them out in Adobe InDesign. Wrote the definition and used Helvetic Nue for my type.
This project was to gain experience in photoshop. This space scene has no photos, but uses mainly brushes and effects to attain this finished product.
Packaging Project.
This project was to create a product and it's packaging as if it was to be sold. I decided on perfume and created a company called Chasing Time Cosmetics. After buying the material pieces for the bottle, I assembled it. I hired a model, rented the dress, and had a photoshoot weeks prior to designing actual packaging. Once having the images of the girl and bottle, I started assembling and putting the design fully together, calling it Essence.
Hired by Firstcall to design new business cards with existing logo and hand render the icons.
The main problem I ran into was needing to put all of the information on one side (like the client wanted) and displaying it in an orderly fashion while using good design.
Hired by Firstcall to create a design that could wrap their holiday tumbler. With taking the same dimension as in their logo, I created balls with lines.
Hired by Firstcall to create a Water Shut-Off tag that is used across the Des Moines area at the different job sites. Again the business card and tumbler are shown.
Hired by Des Moines Area Community College to design a magazine for the Iowa Culinary Institue.
This project was working with layouts, photos, colors, text, etc., and things such as working one-on-one with the client, multiple meetings a week, etc.
This was an ad create for Lomography. Useing my own photography, this ad leads the viewers eye from the image to the camera, to the quote. Was created for Lomography's new camera the Diana Mini.
By taking an existing magazine and completely revamping it, everything from logo to document size. Photos were all chosen/bought for specific purposes as well as impact.
Most fashion magazines have a messy front cover plastered with article titles, pages numbers, etc. I wanted to design a magazine that would appeal to a higher class within the ages of late teens - late twenties.
Rounded corner and having the magazine be thinner than the standard magazine size catches attention. Using the thin rule, Bodoni typeface for body copy adds elegance and delacacy.
Table of Contents and Editors page.
Small article to sell 'Shameless Swimwear'. Having their missions statement in a pull quote fashion.
Half page add designed as well.
'Daily Beauty Products' departement is separated with a thin line to show separation of small articles. Red dots is shown throughout the entire magazine.
Start of Feature article.
Feature article with pull quote.
Masthead is featured on the second to last page of the magazine.
I did not want bring attention to this page with the usually seen disorganized appearance. I used my original hand drawn illustration to add a bit of personality and uniquness to the page.
